“Unsausage” Patties

No Meat, Period.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups water
  • 1/4 cup Bragg Liquid Aminos
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 tsps onion powder
  • 1 1/2 Tbsps nutritional yeast flakes
  • 1 to 2 tsps dried sage
  • 2 Tbsps extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 Tbsps walnuts, ground
  • 2 Tbsps sunflower seeds, ground
  • 2 1/4 cups quick oats

Steps

    Preheat oven to 375°F (191°C).

    Place all ingredients except oats in a saucepan, and bring to a boil.

    Add oats and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring constantly.

    Allow mixture to cool.

    Shape into patties and place on an oiled or non- stick baking sheet.

    Bake for approximately 15 minutes on each side until lightly browned.

Tips

To make uniform patties, use a small canning jar lid as a mold. (This is also great for portion control.) To prevent sticking, brush lid with extra virgin olive oil or cover with plastic wrap. Then firmly press cooled patty mixture into it. Turn patties out onto a baking sheet and bake as usual. These freeze great so I always make a double batch.
